Cayman Crystal Caves, Pedro St. James Castle and Mission House Tour in Grand Cayman

This tour will take you to the 3 historic and iconic architectural and cultural locations in Grand Cayman- The Cayman Crystal Caves, Pedro St James Castle and the Mission House. This tour is best for those who like to learn about history and the culture of the cities that they travel too but are not scared of a little adventure while learning more about new places.

The first stop on this tour is the famous Pedro St James Castle which is the oldest standing building in Grand Cayman. Built in 1801, at a time in the Cayman Islands when most people lived in tiny, thatch-covered houses, a wealthy Englishman, using slave labor from Jamaica, created an astonishing 3-storey building called Pedro St. James. Here you can explore the main building, the castle gardens and gazebo and also experience a multi-sensory 3D presentation at the Pedro Theatre.

Moving on, we then continue to our next stop- The Mission House. The Mission House is a historic house located in Bodden Town, Grand Cayman. The house rose to prominence in the 1800s and became known as the "Mission House" because of early missionaries, teachers and families who lived there. Today, the house has been made into a museum that showcases relics which tell the tale of how life was lived on the Cayman Islands centuries ago. Along with housing a small resource room and the Cayman Islands National Archive, Mission House retains some of the original decor from past owners, allowing today’s guest to get a feel for how life has been on the island for generations.

Continuing the tour to one of the latest and most recent tourist destinations in the Cayman Islands, we reach the Cayman Crystal Caves. These caves were recently discovered in the 1990’s and the family that owned this land have now actively converted this to a tourist attraction after restoring and working on these caves for about 2 decades. You will venture into amazing caves where you’ll see stalactite and stalagmite crystal structures and otherworldly formations, formed by single drops of water and the slow passage of time. Amongst the forest and caves are captivating tropical plant and animal life, including strangler balsam trees, air plants, parrots, and bats. All visitors receive guided walking tours. Tours are approximately 1 ½ hours and take you through the surrounding tropical forest area and 3 caves spectacular.
